Emefiele Finally Regains Freedom From Prison

Godwin Emefiele, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is now free again after fulfilling the requirements of his bail. He was being held at the Kuje Correctional Centre to fulfill the terms of his bail, which was issued by the Federal Capital Territory’s High Court in Abuja back in November. Mr. Emefiele was released on Friday, according to Adamu Duza, the detention center’s spokesperson. “On Friday, he was discharged just after 2:00 p.m. We had to let him go since he complied with the bail requirements the court established.

Emefiele Should Face Firing Squad – Presidency

Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), would have been executed by firing squad if he had been a Chinese national, according to the President.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Advisor to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, stated that Emefiele and his gangs had engaged in heinous embezzlement that would not be tolerated in China.

Onanuga was responding to the report on chargeable offences from the Special Investigation on CBN and Related Entities.

President Bola Tinubu is being sued by certain Rivers State residents for allegedly pressuring Governor Siminalayi Fubara to accept a deal that would put an end to the political crisis that has overtaken the state. At a meeting of Rivers State stakeholders on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Mr. Tinubu mediated a peace deal to put an end to the rivalry between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Governor Nyesom Wike.

Among the things included in the peace agreement are the withdrawal of all court cases related to the crisis and Governor Fubara’s permission for the 25 legislators who switched from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress to carry out their legislative responsibilities. Governor Fubara, Mr. Wike, Peter Odilli, a former official, and other political leaders in the state.

According to BGT NEWS, in addition to Messrs. Fubara and Wike, the resolution document was also signed by Aaron Chukwuemeka, the chairwoman of the PDP in Rivers State, and Martin Amaewhule, the speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. Ngozi Ordu, the deputy governor of Rivers, and Martin Chike, the divided speaker of the State House of Assembly, also signed the motion.
