EFCC Invites Betta Edu Over Alleged Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned Betta Edu, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, to its Abuja headquarters over an alleged N585 million fraud. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded the immediate dismissal and prosecution of Betta Edu, the embattled Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, for alleged fund stealing in her ministry. The demand was made by the opposition political party in a statement released on Sunday in response to several fraud accusations against the minister and her government, including the purported transfer of more than N585 million to a private account. https://x.com/OfficialPDPNig/status/1744055447244431430?s=20 BGT News noted how Edu requested that public monies be transferred to a private account held by Oniyelu Bridget Mojisola, who the minister had designated as a project manager. However, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an investigation into the alleged fraudulent activities of the Minister.
Sanwo- Olu Shuts Down Quilox Night Club

The Quilox nightclub, owned by well-known legislator Shina Peller, has been closed by the Lagos State government, led by Babajide Sanwolu. The Lagos State Environmental Protection organisation (LASEPA), a government organisation in charge of the operation, acknowledged the recent closure of the well-liked nightclub in a post on the X platform on Sunday. The club was closed down, according to LASEPA, for breaking safety and environmental laws. In addition, LASEPA stated that the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSC) was involved in the activity.
