I Earned N620 As A Young  Lecturer in 1981, says Osinbajo

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says when he started lecturing at the University of Lagos in November 1981, he earned N620 as salary.

Osinbajo said this on Tuesday in Kano at the 53rd annual conference of the Association of Law Teachers, held at the Bayero University Kano (BUK).

“Let me begin by thanking the Executive of our Association for the kind invitation to join you at this 53rd law teachers conference. A Law Teachers’ Conference is always a homecoming for me,” he said.

“I started teaching at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, in November 1981, and for many years, attending the Law Teachers’ Conference was always special.”

JAMB Shifts UTME Registration To Feb 19

The Registrar of the  Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,Prof Isiaq Oloyede has spoken why the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry was postponed till February 19 till March 26, 2022.
Oloyede speaking via the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement on Tuesday, claimed that the postponement for the exercise which was initially scheduled to commence on February 12 was due to “fine-tuning”.

ASUU Threatens Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has said its members in universities across the country would embark on another strike soon should the Federal Government fail to implement the Memorandum of Action it signed with the union last year.

The Chairman of ASUU at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Dr Biodun Olaniran, and  Secretary, Dr Toyin Abegunrin, who said this in a statement issued after the congress of the union held on Monday, stressed that the failure of the government  to fully implement the agreement was worrisome.
