Just-In: APC Dissolves All Ward & States Executives
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved all wards and state executive in the country.
BGT News Understands that the decision to dissolve the party structure was taken at the emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held virtually.
The virtual NEC meeting was called to review major issues affecting the party, including the activities of the party’s Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee chaired by the governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.
The committee was constituted in June by the last NEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari following the crises which engulfed the party after an Appeal Court sacked its former chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
Whereas the Buni-led committee had been mandated by the last NEC meeting to conduct the national convention of the party this December, the committee has failed to unveil any agenda for the convention, culminating in accusations that committee members have deliberately opted not to conduct the convention in order to elongate their stay.
Present at the meeting are President Buhari, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila and governors of the party.
